The BFI regrets to announce that we have learned of the death of Harold Brown, first BFI Film Preservation Officer. He retired in 1984 having begun work in 1935 at the age of 15½. He was awarded the MBE in 1967.

Derby's QUAD hosts new BFI Mediatheque

BFI Southbank - closure of NFT for two days
On Wednesday 14 March 2007, the NFT will re-open as BFI Southbank. This building will be closed on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 March in order to carry out essential maintenance and refurbishment works.

Power cut at the NFT and an apology for disruption
On Friday 9 February we experienced a power cut across the entire NFT site. As a result we unfortunately had to cancel all programmes and events on the evening of Friday 9 February and all day Saturday 10 February. Our catering and ticketing operations were also unable to operate.
