BFI Southbank now open

BFI Southbank

Following last night's glittering launch, BFI Southbank has now thrown open its doors. Why not pay us a visit?

Guests from the world of film and culture gathered on London's South Bank to bid a warm welcome to the new venue.

BFI Southbank is a haven for film-lovers. In addition to the three cinemas (formerly known as the NFT) you can now explore the BFI Mediatheque, containing hundreds of hours of film from the BFI National Archive, our new studio cinema, the BFI Filmstore and the benugo cafe and bar.

Our opening programme makes a loud statement and is a taster for things to come. Optronica offers visual music on the big screen. The 21st London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival is a two week celebration of queer filmmaking and our retrospective of the work of Terence Davies features a stunning restoration of the British Director's masterpiece Distant Voices Still Lives.

Explore BFI Southbank here and find out more about the packed programme of films and events for the next six weeks.
