The BFI - the home of film in Britain - celebrates its 75th birthday

What better reason to roll out the red carpet - it's the 75th birthday of the BFI in September, and we're planning quite a party.

For the whole of September we'll be celebrating down at our legendary Thames-side venue BFI Southbank, with free screenings, a family fun day, 75 DVD titles hugely reduced in price, specially curated archive screenings in the free Mediatheque, and plenty of opportunities for celebrity spotting at gala evenings and events. Across the UK there'll be tours of selected films and special DVD releases.
