Strategy for UK Screen Heritage
During the summer, the BFI led on a strategy consultation for promoting UK Screen Heritage. The strategy was drafted by the UK Film Heritage Group which collectively believes the public is entitled to access, learn about and enjoy the UK's rich moving image heritage, wherever they live and wherever the materials are held.
The consultation closed on 7 September 2007. The feedback has now been analysed and a summary produced, which has been circulated to all contributors.
In October 2007 the DCMS announced as part of the Government Comprehensive Spending Review a £25 million investment in support of the strategy. A formal Programme Board which will be accountable for the money and for delivery of the strategy is now being set up and expected to be operational by March 2008.
Details of membership of the Board and project structure will be announced as soon as they are available.
