Frida
Paul Leduc's neglected Frida Kahlo biopic.
With very little dialogue and a camera so roaming that you feel you are in Kahlo's wheelchair, Leduc avoided all the pitfalls of the biopic in his almost forgotton movie about artist Frida Kahlo.
When the Julie Taymor/Salma Hayek film on Frida Kahlo was released, almost none of the reviews or critical discussion mentioned that Leduc's film about her is far, far better. With very little dialogue and a camera so roaming that you feel you are in Kahlo's wheelchair, Leduc avoided all the pitfalls of the biopic. And yet this movie is almost forgotten.
