Slumdog Millionaire
Danny Boyle's latest film tells the story of Jamal, a street kid from Mumbai in the unlikely position of winning India's version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire. In fact, the local police find it so improbable they arrest him on suspicion him of cheating. As Jamal tells them his story, we gain an insight into his life and loves. Beautifully shot, it's an energetic and, ultimately, joyous film, and a fantastic addition to Boyle's increasingly diverse filmography.
